The Shipman Scholars Initiative
One paid summer fellowship.
An anticipated 8–10 week educational experience exposing a college student to justice, behavioral health and leadership through real projects, professional development and a final capstone presentation.
The fellowship is designed to give one college student meaningful exposure to the kinds of systems and decisions that shape communities, organizations and careers.
Law, policy, courts, reentry, criminal-justice research and the way public systems affect real people.
Behavioral health, recovery systems, community programs, public-health issues and the supports that help people stabilize and move forward.
Nonprofit and business administration, strategic planning, communications, project management and executive decision-making.
The Fellow will complete one capstone project: research a real community problem, interview stakeholders, analyze data or policy, develop recommendations and present a final policy or program proposal.
Professional-development sessions will also address writing, graduate or law school, interviewing, leadership, networking and career strategy.
